This study investigated what change patterns major fishery resources in Busan inshore had followed from the Neolithic Age to the Modern Age. After the Neolithic Age, the change patterns of Busan's major fishery resources were different in terms of species diversity. The species diversity of the utilized fishery resources are usually changed because of the resource availability and human being’s preferences. According to the results, the species diversity of the utilized fish was stable, but the one of shellfish was decreased during all periods. It means that the resource availability of fish might have been less decreased than the one of shellfish. From the food viewpoint, the changed proportion of the utilized fishery resources is also attributed to the role of the fishery resources to become side dishes from major food. Although the absolute necessity of the fishery resources as side dishes was decreased, the species diversity of the utilized fish was relatively increased because of its nutritional content and taste. This is confirmed by the fact that although the abundance of fish has decreased closer to the modern age, the ratio of fish's composition to the utilized fishery resources increases, but the ratio of shellfish's composition decreases.
