Reading With Films for Media Literacy Education - Focusing on the Movie <Rabbit Without Ears>

이 논문은 다매체가 공존하는 오늘날 미디어 리터러시 교육과 매체 환경의 변화에 맞는 미디어 리터러시 교육을 위한 영화 읽기에 관한 연구이다. 이 논문에서 제안하고 있는 미디어 리터러시 교육 방법은 영상과 디지털 매체를 접하면서 성장해온 대학생들의 독서교육을 대표적인 미디어 매체인 영화 읽기로 접근하는 것이다. 책 읽기는 곧 독서라는 기존 관점을 화면 독서로 확장하여 바라본 것이다. 이 논문에서 미디어 리터러시 교육을 위하여 20대인 대학생들이 고민하고 토론해 봐야 할 주제인 사랑을 다룬 영화 <귀 없는 토끼>를 예로 들었다. 그 방법은 영화에 대한 이해, 텍스트 분석, 주제 탐구, 발표와 토론, 글쓰기, 피드백이다. 학생들은 영화 읽기에 참여하면서 사랑에 대한 바른 가치관을 확립할 수 있고, 주인공들의 갈등 극복과정과 변화와 성장 과정을 체험하면서 진정한 관계 형성에 대하여 학습할 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 대학생들의 미디어 리터러시 교육을 고민하는 연구자들에게 실제적이며 효과적인 방식이 될 것이다.

As the term “reading” is also used in the acceptance of audio-visual media today when the multiple media coexist, the concept of reading in the publishing media expands to paper reading, screen reading, etc. With the external extension of this reading significance, the media literacy ability to read and write media has become important. In this paper, reading with films is suggested as a media literacy education suitable for these changes in the media environment, and as an instance, the movie <Rabbit Without Ears>, was analyzed. The teaching methods consisted of understanding of films, text analysis, topic exploration, presentation and discussion, writing, and feedback. This course is designed to allow participants to broaden the scope of thinking and have a new perspective. Students can establish the right values for the love while participating in reading with films and learn about the formation of true relationship while experiencing the process of overcoming conflicts, and changing and growing up. Therefore, it is considered that this study will be a practical and effective way for the researchers who struggle with the media literacy education of university students who need to grow up in order to establish the right values for love and behave with common sense.
