The purpose of this study is to develop an online design platform for the mass customization of Hanbok that is able to establish a platform concept and develop scenarios and prototypes that reflect it. The purpose of this design platform is to provide a consumer-based Hanbok style, which satisfies consumer demand by offering a variety of design options. To accomplish the stated purpose, this study analyzed online fashion platforms that are considered to have target specifications similar to those of online design platforms for the mass customization of Hanbok. As a result of the analysis, the concept and ideal target specifications of the platform were developed and scenarios and prototypes were prepared to enable them. In order to develop a design platform that fulfills consumer demand with a wide variety of design options, two scenarios were created. Scenario A is a service process in which consumers are offered design options through filtering, design and size matching, delivery, and confirmation services for selected designs. Scenario B is strengthened by suggesting selected Hanbok designs based on consumers' designated preferred styles and by adding a service process that may result in the partial improvement of consumers' choices. Based on these two scenarios, the prototypes for the online design platform were produced using Adobe XD. The resulting platform can be used for basic data necessary in scenario design and usability assessment for developing mass customization online platforms for fashion design. This platform will also contribute to the succession, development, and globalization of Korean design as well as creative Hanbok design development, service creation, productivity improvement, and distribution structure innovation.
