The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil, sulfur material which controls active oxygen on the hair. This study performed the permanent wave with 10%, 20% of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil to the 1st solution which Thioglycolic acid is key ingredient to analyze the formation ratio of hair wave, tensile strength, elongation and amino acid composition and to observe hair epidermis. And the findings are as follows. As a result of experimenting the formation ratio of permanent wave, The experimental group (TA3) with 20% of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oul added to thioglycolic acid showed the highest formation ratio. The result of measuing tensile strength and elongation showed that the experimental group (TA3) with 20% of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil added to thioglycolic acid showd 127.93 gf/mm2 and 130.9% respectively which is the highest. As a result of observing the hair surface using scanning electron microscope(SEM), it is observed that the higher the density of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil added to thioglycolic acid, the less the degree of hair damage is. As a result of analyzing the composition ration of amino acid, the experimental group (TA2) with 10% of Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil added to thioglucolic acid was 93.54%, the highest. The group with Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil added contained more amino acid than the group without Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil added. Therefore, it is observed that the physical and chemical damage on the hair can be decreased by adding Chamaecyparis obtusa Oil and it is effective to permanent wave.
