The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leisure constraint on participation motivation and the intention to continue of horseback riding participants. The subjects of this study consisted of 241 horseback riding participants. The used instruments were the Kim(2006) for measuring Leisure Constraint Scale, the Jung(1997) for measuring Leisure Participant Motivation Scale, and the Jung(2008) for measuring Intention to Continue Scale. The data were analyzed by correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis as a statistical method. The result of this study were as follows. First, the subscale of leisure constraint, both sociological constraints and time constraints positively influenced to the enjoyment, but personal constraints negatively influenced to that. And sociological constraints negatively influenced to the external display. And physical constraints negatively influenced to the affiliation. And sociological constraints positively influenced to the health-fitness, but psychological constraints negatively influenced to that. Both personal constraints and psychological constraints positively influenced to the amotivation, but time constraints negatively influenced to that. Second, physical constraints negatively influenced to the intention to continue. Third, both enjoyment and health-fitness positively influenced to the intention to continue, but affiliation and amotivation negatively influenced to that.
