The purpose of this study is to explore the directions of a new ecological paradigm of the unification education. For these, we would criticize the existing theories of unification education viewed on ecological light, and then, would propose the ecological unification education. This study can be summarized as follows. First, According to ecologists, they assert the necessity of basic reorientation of crucial components of present social orders to overcome ecological crisis today. This means the movement from the mechanistic world view to the ecological world view and shift from dominant educational paradigm to new ecological paradigm in unification education. Second, We criticize the limits of the existing paradigm of unification education and then propose a new ecological paradigm of the unification education. We criticize the nationcenterism, ignorance of the autonomy of educational subjects on the existing unification education theories in the light of ecological view-point. Third, I suggested that a new ecological paradigm of the unification education should be necessary in these days. It insists the ecological reform of unification education which makes actively possible the plan for ecologization of environments as well as ecologization of the relations between south Korea and north Korea and teacher and student on the basis of the ecological view-point. The important concepts of this theory are relationship between subjects of unification education, which are composed of nation, teacher and student, ecological democracy and ecological nationalism.
