Metaphor theory is problematic since it is not interpreted literally. The study of metaphoric meaning and fuzzy concept have been developed in the framework of both semantics and pragmatics. Among the many literary styles, a writer's creativity can be recognized clearly in metaphor and fuzzy. Accordingly, many linguists have tried to explain metaphor and fuzzy using the methodologies of linguistics. The ancient philosophers like Aristotle had defined the concept of a metaphor. After the concept of metaphor was defined, many linguists came to discuss metaphor in the view of linguistics. In the 20th century, the concept of metaphor was defined by Richards and Black. According to Black there are three different kinds of views about metaphor: the substitution view, the interaction view and the comparison view. These semantic theories are not sufficient in interpreting metaphor. Therefore, in this paper I'd like to show the limitations of the semantic approaches to metaphor and to find the other way to interpret metaphor in the view of pragmatics.
