본고에서는 먼저 2장에서 교육과정 차원에서의 외래어 표기 규범 교육 내용의 도입 문제를 다룬다. 3장에서는 교육과정에 제시된 외래어 표기 규범이 교과서에서 어떻게 구현되고 있는지를 검토하기 위해 2007 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등 국어 교과서의 외래어 표기 규범 교육 내용을 분석한다. 마지막으로 4장에서는 2장과 3장의 내용을 바탕으로 외래어 표기 규범 교육에 대한 우리 나름대로의 제안을 간략하게 제시하기로 한다.


This study was conducted in response to the necessity to review the current norm of loanword representation in the current situation that foreign elements are increasing rapidly in our language as a result of people’s frequent contacts with foreign things in the age of globalization. For this purpose, this study dealt with issues related to the use of terms denoting the norm of loanword representation such as orthography, norms, regulations as well as problems in the norm of loanword representation and people’s perception of the norm of loanword representation. In addition, we analyzed 16 kinds of high school Korean language textbooks under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum, which introduced for the first time the norm of loanword representation by staging the education of the norm of loanword representation from the goals of education to contents, methods and assessments, and derived suggestions. In the current situation that the norm of loanword representation is not fully educated in school, this study has the limitation that we do not know any specific pattern of education in teaching and learning the norm of loanword representation. Nevertheless, it is meaningful in that it approached patterns materialized through the introduction of language norms as contents of grammar education from the dimension of language norm education.
