Internal and external stressors have long existed, and people adapt their bodies, minds, and spirits to their current life environment in different ways. Resilience is a personal quality that allows individuals and communities to grow, and to go so far as to thrive, in the face of adversity. It is an important area for the promotion of general mental health.
