The purpose of the thesis is to propose ways to develop a new <grammar> textbook of high school. First of all, I've analyzed the revised grammar curriculum. This analysis shows that the grammar curriculum have several problems. First, the lack of sense of real of learner's grammar avoidance, second the excess of knowledge and difficulty of performing teaching methods, third the unrelated construction of language knowledges with language performances. If we try to make a good grammar textbook, we have to concentrate on the development of learning methods, not learning contents. It has never changed the essence of grammar contents even though educational paradigms have changed. It means we have a consent of essential grammar items in a grammar textbook. Now we have to recognize the learner's and teacher's avoidance of grammar owing to grammar textbook system. So I will propose a few ways for a grammar textbook development. First, the diversifying methods in approach to knowledge learning. Second, the searching good texts showing a real language life, and third the grading grammatical items in order to decide a amount and depth in the textbook. It is unnecessary to treat equally all grammar knowledges in a textbook.
