素琴은“풍류신학은 성령의 신학이요, 멋의 신학이다”3)라고 주장한 다. 이런 점에서 보면, 풍류신학에서 성령론이 중요한 것으로 생각되어 질 수 있지만, 복음과 한국문화의 관계성에 천착하는 토착화신학의 관 점에서 본다면 풍류신학의 핵심은 성령론이 아니라 기독론에 있다고 생각된다. 이렇게 생각되어지는 이유는 한국문화(영성)의 핵심을 風流 道로 보고 있는素琴은 우주적 그리스도론을 기반으로 풍류도가 한국의 역사 속에서 무교, 불교를 통하여 전개되었지만, 완성은 기독교에 있다 고 주장하기 때문이다. 소금은 분명하게 주장한다.“풍류도는 긴 역사적 전개 끝에 그 완전한 실현을 그리스도 안에서 만나보게 된 것이다.”4) 풍류도의 관점에서 한국의 종교사를 보면, 한국의 종교들이 풍류도를 전개시키고 있지만 기독교의 성령이 아닌 그리스도에게서 풍류도가 구 체화되어지고, 사건화되었기 때문에 기독교에 이르러 풍류도가 완성되 어진다는 것이다. 한국 땅에서 기독교 이전의 한국종교들과 기독교와의 공통점은 풍류도라는 차원에서 발견되어지고, 차이점은 풍류도의 전개 와 완성이라는 점에서 차별화되기 때문에 기독론이 풍류신학의 중심적 인 자리를 차지하고 있다고 생각되어진다. 이러한 측면에서 본 글은 素 琴유동식의‘풍류신학의 기독론’과 의미를 살펴보려고 한다.


Korean Theology which is distinguished from Western Theology is ‘Indigenous Theology” and ‘Minjung Theology.” The former articulates the religious and cultural aspect, and the later the aspect of political and social aspect of Korea. Pungryu Theology, which is developed by Ryu Dongshik, belongs to Korean Indigenous theology. Even though most Korean Christians think that Korean traditional religions like Shamanism, Buddhism, Confucianism are not truth, Pungryu Theology find out God’ revelation from Korean traditional religions. Based on Choi Chiweon’s epitaph, Ryu Dongshik insists that the ethos of Korean spirituality is “Pungryu.” According to Ryu, Pungryu is the spiritual principle which has formed Korean traditional religions. Furthermore, he tries to understand the essential aspect of Christianity from the perspective of Pungryu. For Ryu, Pungryu means the union with God through self-denial. In this sense, Jesus is understood as the Pungryu itself. Therefore, Pungryu theology as a Korean Theology does not regard Korean traditional religions as idols. Therefore, the first purpose of this article is to articulate the general aspect of Pungryu theology. The second is to articulate the understanding of Jesus in Pungryu theology. The last is to evaluate the Christological perspective of Pungryu Theology.
