This paper aims proving that we can find out modern love and emotion in Kim So-Woel’s poems. He considers that emotion of sorrow is important especially Sereum, a kind of sorrow. Sereum differs from Han in that the subject of Sereum acts rationally by his free will. Modern Subject experiences Sereum while he desires love, a sweet home, assimilation with nature. When readers find out Sereum in the poems of Kim, So-Woel they feel Gayepsm which leads them to perceive the truth of life and to recover their will to live faithfully. Kim, So-Woel wrote poems of sorrow not because he has nihilism but because he wish to overcome the tragic real world. Accordingly it is right judgement that he is a poet who try to overcome the nihilism of his real world.
