This paper aims to examine the rhetorical transformation and revision in the poems of Oh Jang-Hwan’s middle age. I will analysis how the correspondences between his view of the world and his rhetorics is revealed in the revision of his texts. In the early ages Oh’s texts have many allegories to satire or criticize the modern civilization. When Dark hole(1937-1945) came, Oh Jang Hwan was possessed by the death, diabolism, and sin against the desperate exteriors. He transformed into the pursuit of the universal goodness and into the aspiration to the ‘Heimat(province)’. His consciousness is revealed on the revisions of text which were made between published in his collection and in the magazine. Especially his poems are changed simpler, more lyrical and more symbolical with the belief of future and life.
