The Korean education in China has gotten an unprecedented boost in development during the past few years; and in the 21st century, its development has entered a new stage of prosperity, but at the same time there are still many problems that need to be addressed. There are some remarkable improvements in the quality of teachers and the compilation of the teaching materials, but there still exist many problems. This paper reviews the history of the compilation of the Korean teaching materials and come up with the future development topics. Compilation of Korean teaching materials in China can be roughly divided into the following four stages. The first stage is from the 1950s to 1960s; the second stage is from the early 1970s to the early 1990s; the third stage is from the mid 1990s to the late 1990s; the fourth stage is from 2000 to present. From the history of several decades of development, we can see that with the historical development of foreign language education, the compilation of Korean teaching materials in China has made great achievements, but the compilation of the Korean textbooks can not adapt to the needs of the society and the objective requirements for the development of the Korean education. The compiler of the Korean teaching materials must do the following: 1. the compilation of a unified syllabus 2. the theoretical study of the compilation of the Korean teaching materials 3. the basic research for the compilation of the Korean teaching materials 4. the systematic teaching of grammar for Korean as a foreign language 5. modern compilation techniques 6. and the compilation of Korean teaching materials for different courses and levels.
