It is well known that the number of Japanese learners has been increasing and that researcher and teachers who are from institution have to figure out learner’s needs to supply the adequate education. JOP ( Japanese for Occupational Purposes ) education with which I deal in this thesis is an education for learners who need Japanese for specific occupational situations. To begin with this study, I, firstly, analyzed “Hotel Japanese” textbook. In the field of JOP, although the needs of professional education to beginner level learners are advocated, the textbooks mainly have 3 problems, 1) they are targeted to at least post beginner or intermediate level learners, 2) they lack consideration to learner’s level and tasks, 3) they don’t show enough conversation to let learners perform well in their occupational situations. To base on these problems, I suggest how to educate JOP to introductory level of learners.
