This paper attempts to critically review the existing literature on the role of female government employees and their job characteristics, to find out research issues relating to the increase of number of female government employees working in the government sector, to suggest policy alternatives to cope with problems arising from a mis-match between the number of male government employees and that of female ones. In doing this, it constructs an analytical framework to contrast now and the future especially in relation to unbalanced number of male and female government employees and puts forward some policy suggestions to tackle various problems.
