We investigate optically detected magnetophonon resonance (ODMPR) effects for the Faraday configuration in quantum wells of $n$-GaAs materials with square and parabolic confining potentials. We also obtain the ODMPR conditions for the Faraday configurations as functions of the well-width in the square well and the confinement frequency in the parabolic well for various photon frequencies. In particular, the anomalous behaviors of the ODMPR lineshape, such as the splitting of the ODMPR peaks for an incident photon frequency, as a function of the magnetic field strength are discussed. Furthermore, we obtain the shift properties of the main peaks by using selection rules that depend on the Faraday configuration in quantum wells with two kinds of potential.
