The purpose of this research is to conceptualize an alternate holistic curriculum to the church's elderly education in Korea. This study is divided into three parts. First, The aim of elderly education is to encourage elderly people into a deeper faith and a wholeness of life, so that they can live fulfilled lives. Second, a holistic idea of the elderly curriculum is conceptualized. The holistic curriculum for the elderly is designed for the harmonious development of all areas of human development including intelligence, emotions, and virtues. It contributes to create a well balanced people. In the conceptualization, a logic has been developed based on three premises (integration of personality, integration of relationship, and integrity of religion) to propose the holistic education for the Christian elderly. To determine guidelines for a holistic education curriculum for the elderly, the realm of curricular experience is divided into four areas: intelligence, affection, volition and spirituality. The 21 sub-realms of the curriculum were developed by using a matrix of the four areas. Specific contents can be developed within this curriculum scope. Results of the study showed that elderly students have the desire to learn, rather than merely participate in recreational activities. Education about health issues is very important to the elderly. Hobbies, family matters, and religious concerns, such as the nature of God, salvation, and prayer are also important to the elderly to learn about at the church.Elderly education specialists believe that the church's elderly education should integrate religious and daily life.
