We investigated the effect of dance program for 12 weeks on body weight, % fat, lean body mass and blood TG, T-C, LDL-C, and HDL-C, index of cardiovascular disease, in obesity women. Twenty-four obesity women were ramdomly divided to contorl group(n=12) and dance group(n=12). For the analysis of blood lipid profiles were measured in venous blood sample(7ml) in before and after 12 weeks dance program. % fat was significantly lower in the dance group compared to control group, especially was significantly lower after 12 weeks dance program in dance group. Lean body mass was significantly higher in the dance group compared to control group and was significantly higher after 12 weeks dance program in dance group. Also, HDL-C concentration was significantly higher in the dance groupw compared to control group and was significantly higher after 12 weeks dance program in dance group. In conclusion, the effect of regular dance program on obesity prevention is likely a positive response to decrease of % fat and increase of lean body mass and, HDL-C concentration.
