This paper aims to discuss how the main characters accomplish their love through death in Romeo and Juliet. In this play the initiators of tragedy, through their shameful deeds, destroy those individuals they cherish most in their own lives. The warring families, the Capulets and Monatagues, may be said to reconcile with each other through the sacrifice of their son and daughter. However, strictly speaking, the play has two different endings; one is the tragic sacrifice of the two young people and the other is the reconciliation of the two old generations, even though there are elaborate manipulations, throughout the play, of weaving two different kinds of conflicts into one plot. Also, there are a lot of light and darkness imageries to predict their love and death. In Romeo and Juliet, the lovers are dead in an inevitable situation, but their death suggests a reconciliation with two different families and a possibility of rebirth through love.
