The purpose of this study is to develop a customized eBook as a supplemental learning material based on eLearning theory. In the first part of this study some hypothesis was introduced to support an eLearning theory. The description of the eBook user and the instructional strategy applied are described. The eBook developed is aimed to provide background knowledge for the L2 students who take reading comprehension class as a compulsory freshman English course in a university level. Included modules in the eBook are to be conducive to implement more opportunities to improve vocabulary power for L2 students. In this study, eBook modules are explained according to their functions within the eBook. The present paper describes pedagogical expectation embedded in each function. The utilization of an eBook and the effect on students learning improvement as a supplemental learning material will be tested in the future study.
