Scholastic Achievements of Late Professor Kidang Lee, Han-Key―with special regards to his contribution to International Law Education in Korea The year of 2005 is the tenth anniversary of late professor Lee, Han-Key's death. Late professor Lee, Han-Key was born in 1917 and died in 1995. He experienced various important positions during his life time, including acting Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, but he was most impressively remembered as international law professor by his close colleagues, family and students. He had taught international law at the College of Law, Seoul National University from 1952 to 1980 and was one of pioneers in academic circle of international law in Korea after World War II. He published two scholastic textbooks on international law ― “Studies on International Law” in 1958 & 1960 and “Lectures on International Law” in 1973. Until early 1990s his textbooks were a kind of a Bible for studying international law in Korea. His books were reprinted countlessly and this year also. He established a framework for teaching international law in Korea. Late professor Lee, Han-Key has been a great teacher for all his law students.
