본 연구는 음악과 수학 통합 활동이 유아의 음악능력 향상과 수학개념 형성에 미치는 영향을 밝혀보기 위한 목적으로 수행하였다. 40명의 만 4세 유아들을 실험집단과 비교집단에 배치하고 10주 동안 20회의 실험처치를 실시하였다. 두 집단의 사전검사 점수와 사후검사 점수의 변화를 비교․분석하기 위하여 ANCOVA-test한 결과 음악과 수학 통합 활동은 유아의 음악능력 향상과 수학개념 형성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 음악능력 하위영역인 음악적 창의력을 제외한 듣기, 리듬 표현하기, 노래 부르기, 악기 다루기에서 긍정적인 영향이 있었고 수학개념 하위영역인 측정/서열화 개념을 제외한 분류 개념, 수 개념, 공간 및 시간 개념 형성에 긍정적인 영향이 있었다.


The purpose of this study was to find out what effects integrated kindergarten music and mathematics activities have on the musical ability and mathematical concepts of preschoolers. Integrated kindergarten music and mathematics activities were applied to the experimental group, and general non integrated activities were applied to the comparative group. The activities were composition musical concepts and mathematical concepts. These activities were carried twice a week for 40 minutes a day for 10 weeks. Data were analyzed for the mean, standard deviation, and ANCOVA-test on pre- and post-scores in order to find significant differences in musical improvement and mathematics concepts formation between the two groups. The results of this study were as follows. First, there were significant differences between preschooler's musical abilities. The experimental group showed significantly higher scores than the comparative group. Also in the sub-factors of the musical ability, the experimental group showed significant differences in listening, rhythm expression, and operation of instruments. Secondly, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores than the comparative group in mathematical concepts. Also in the sub-factors of the mathematical concepts, the experimental group showed significant differences in classification, number, space/time concepts.
