이 연구는 漢字能力試驗의 資格證을 取得한 學生의 讀解力과 資格證을 未取得한 學生의 讀解力이 어떤 差異를 보이는지 밝힘으로써 한자능력시험의 有效性에 관한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 目的이 있다.이를 위해 본 연구는 漢字, 漢字能力, 漢字能力試驗, 讀解力을 개념 정의하고, ‘독해력 측정 결과, 한자능력시험의 일정 자격을 취득한 학생은 그렇지 않은 학생보다 유의미한 수준에서 높을 것이다.’라는 硏究 假說을 세웠다. 그리고 한자능력시험에 가장 많이 응시하는 집단인 初等學生을 對象으로 연구를 진행하여 다음과 같은 硏究 結果를 얻었다. 한자능력시험 자격증 취득 여부에 따라 독해력에 차이가 있으며, 자격증을 취득한 학생의 독해력이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 有意味하게 높다(유의수준 p<.05). 또한 자격증을 취득한 경우, 거주 지역과 관련 없이 독해력 수준은 차이가 나지 않았다(t-검증).


A Study of the Comparison between Chinese Character Proficiency Test and Reading Ability Baek, Kwang-ho This study focused on the validity of the Chinese character proficiency test by comparing the difference proficiency of Chinese characters between students who have obtained the certificate of qualification and those who have not. For this study, the definitions of Chinese character, proficiency of Chinese characters, Chinese character proficiency test, and reading ability. The hypothesis was set as ‘after measuring reading ability, it is shown that students who have acquired the certificate of Chinese character proficiency have a greater proficiency of Chinese characters than those who have not.’ This study used elementary school students, since they make up the biggest proportion of people taking the Chinese proficiency test, as the sample population. There was a difference between students based on the acquirement of the Chinese character proficiency test, with students having acquired it having significantly higher reading ability than those who have not(p<.05). Also in the case of those who have acquired the certificate, there showed no difference in reading ability based on place of residence(t-test).
