본 연구는 정신지체학교 교사들의 의복행동 특성을 파악하기 위하여 전라북도와 광주광역시에 소재한 정신지체학교에 재직 중인 교사 194명을 대상으로 교사의 의복행동을 조사하여 얻어낸 결과에 의하면 교사의 의복행동은 남녀 교사 모두 전체적으로 심미성, 유행성, 중요성, 정숙성 순으로 중요하게 생각하며 교사의 의복행동 중 심미성은 정숙성과 부적상관관계를, 유행성과 중요성에서는 정적상관관계를 나타냈으며 정숙성은 유행성과 부적상관관계를, 중요성과는 정적상관관계를 나타내며 유행성은 중요성과 정적상관관계를 나타냈다.


The purpose of this study was to investigated the characteristics of clothing behavior of teachers working for schools for the mentally retarded. The subjects for this study included 194 teachers who are visiting special schools in Chonbuk, Kwangju for the mentally retarded.The clothing behaviors was composed of four variables : esthetic, modesty, fashion, and clothing important.The result of the study were as followings :First, teacher's clothing behaviors showed a significant difference according to sex. The female & male teachers showed an affirmative response in order esthetic, fashion, clothing important, modesty. Namely the married teachers showed more interest in modesty than unmarried teachers. Teachers whose age had a little took more fashion. According to school grade, the elementary school teachers put greater emphasis on modesty the middle school teachers did. By career, the 15-year or more career was to think important fashion. For a certificate of qualification, those who were officially qualified for special teacher and both special & non-special teacher showed interest in esthetic, fashion. By major, department of science teacher showed interest in esthetic and modesty.Second, in the relationship between clothing behavior and the variable clothing behavior factors, the esthetic is negatively correlated with modesty and is positively correlated with fashion & clothing importance. The modesty is negatively correlated with fashion and is positively with clothing important. The fashion is positively correlated with clothing important. The clothing important is positively correlated with esthetic, modesty, fashion .
