Polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials has been used as waterproofing materials, e.g. for basement and water tank due to both simple handling and excellent workability. However, as for the polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials, the durability is easy to be degraded by the occurrence and propagation of crack. An aim of this study is to make clear performance of the polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials of which performances are improved through this study. Base on this study, if summarized, as follows.1. PAE and EVA show the result to be markedly dependent on the condition and period of deterioration. Presence of reinforcement causes the influence to the physical properties of waterproofing materials. In addition, a reinforcement effect of non-woven fabric on cracking can be expected.2. Polymer-modified paste-applied membrane waterproofing materials is markedly deteriorated by heated water. It is evaluated that performance deterioration is closely related to with a water-resistance property of a base polymer matrix. So, the improvement of water-resistance property of a base polymer is very important in the application of polymer to waterproofing materials.
