The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise intensity level and multi-functional fabric on changes of EEG and growth hormone(GH) during sleep and quality of sleep of the 8 young female athletes. The subjects participated in separated experimental procedure; sleeping with group worn multi-functional fabric(experimental group) and worn cotton(control group) for 450min. During the night (22:00-05:30), we recorded the changes of nocturnal polysomnographic sleep recording and GH were measured among 23:00, 24:00, 02:00, and 04:00. The results of this study were follows: First, The results show that there are significant differences in percentage of stage 1, 2 and slow wave sleep(SWS) between multi-functional Fabric worn and non in moderate exercise level(F1, 28=91.293, p=.000). The SWS percentage of worn multi-functional Fabric group was 1.8 times higher than non worn multi-functional Fabric group in moderate exercise level. The SWS percentage of group worn multi-functional fabric was 1.5 times higher than group non worn multi-functional fabric in excessive exercise level. Second, The changes of GH secretion varied depending by two experimental procedure. The peak GH secretion in experimental group was more than controls by 1.3time in moderate exercise level. And The peak GH secretion in experimental group was more than controls by 2.1time in excessive exercise.
