It was the aim of this study to investigate the expression of HSP 60 in skeletal muscle by endurance training. The male Sprague-Dawley rats underwent the treadmill running at the 55% of VO2 max (20m/min, 10 , 60min/day, 5days/week) during weeks. The expression of HSP 60 in gastrocnemius was increased at the beginning of training. Soleus muscles was increased after 4week of training.. In the last period of training, HSP 60 content was increased in both type of muscle. These results indicate that up-regulation of HSP 60 was influenced by alternation of energy metaolism and biogenesis rate. Also, it displayed specific feature by skeletal muscle's contractile properties, this is important result for explaining muscle damage and recover.
