The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the regular participation in dance on the body fat and blood lipids in obese middle aged women. Twenty females were seclected as subjects and then divided into two groups; the experimental group(dance participation n=10) and the control group(no dance n=10). The dance program was 90 minutes a day(duration), 5 day a weeks(frequency) during 12weeks. The statistical methods utilized in this study for analyzing the collected data were ANOVA with repeated measure by Spsswin10.0. And the results are like follows. The body fat weight, total cholesterol, triglycerides and low density lipoprotein levels were significantly decreased and high density lipoprotein in the experimental group. The results of this study suggest that regular participation in dance on the body fat and blood lipids in obese middle aged women is more effective in terms of body fat weight and blood lipids.
