To examine the effects of the football type preference exercise on physical fitness and blood lipid in obese children, 16 elementary students in the fifth and sixth grade(test group: 8, control group:8) were selected as subjects. They were conducted football type preference exercise program with one hour a day, five days a week, for eight weeks. The intensity of the test group was 50-80% HRmax and RPE 11-15(moderate-hard). Then physical fitness and blood lipid before and after exercise were analyzed and the following results were obtained. 1. The effects on physical fitness in obese children were statistically significantly improved in the 600-meter run(p< .01), but improved in hand grip strength and sit-up without signification. Body fat and body fat rate were decreased(p< .05, p< .01 respectively). 2. The effects on blood lipid in obese children showed significant changed in TC and TG(p< .05), while there was no statistical changes in HDL-C and LDL-C.
