The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of bowling exercise for bone density and physical fitness on women in her forties. This study selected middle-aged women were divide into bowling-exercise group and non-exercise group. The results are as follows. First, there was non any significant difference in bone density of lumber and femur(femoral neck, Ward's triangle, trochanteric region, Total) in terms of statistics. group. Second, there was not any significant difference in all physical strength items(the back strength, grip strength, surjent jump, balance) in terms of statistics. Otherwise, bowling exercise group showed higher numerical value than non-exercise group. Third, there was statically not any significant difference in all physical strength items(trunk flexion, stomach crunches, side step). Otherwise non-exercise group showed higher numerical value than bowling exercise group. The forth, significant correlation was found in bone density of lumber and femur, the maximum quantity of oxygen inhalation, back strength, grip strength, stomach crunches, side step, and balance. In conclusion bowling exercise are effective weight bearing exercise which can prevent and delay the vanishment of bone and promote physical strength. Furthermore, periodical bowling exercise shows that it could have positive effect against osteoporis prevention of postmenopausal women. Stretching and opposite movement will be effective before and after the exercise because it is asymmetric exercise. However, previous survey on materials including a female hormone, the intake of calcium and eating habits is required th analyze the measured for bone density and the study on quality and quantity of definite and quantitative exercise can be necessary.
