Korea has enforced the local autonomous-government system since 1995, when each local government's responsibility becomes more important. The local governments take the initiatives for the local development policies. They try to establish their identities and unite their residents. There are lots of competitions among the local governments to get more enterprises and tourists into their cities. Therefore, they need to develope potential resources in their cities. They want to promote the image of their cities and improve their economy. The place marketing in hosting the cultural tourism events is one of the typical policies.In conclusions, First, social and cultural influences of the cultural tourism events has an affirmative effects on the local economy. Second, activated tourism influences of th cultural tourism events has an affirmative effects on the local economy. Third, social, cultural, and environmental influences of the cultural tourism events affirmatively affect the development of the region. Fourth, activated economy through cultural tourism events affirmatively affect the development of the region. In conclusion, cultural tourism events promote the image of the region and have the long-term effect on the development of the place.
