The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum batch composition for fabricating the Hwangto based autoclave lightweight concrete(ALC) as constructional material which controls humidity. The results of this study were as follows; The optimum batch composition of hwangto annexed clay minerals for manufacturing the ALC was 15 wt.% of Hwangto, 10 wt.% of diatomite, 5 wt.% of silica fume, 28.2 wt.% of slag, 25.6 wt.% of Quartz sand, 11.4 wt.% of quick lime and 4.8 wt.% of hemi hydrate. ALC made above composition showed 45 ㎏f/㎠ of compressive strength. XRD and SEM analysis showed that ettringite crystals were developed when 15% wt.% of Hwangto and 15 wt.% of diatomite. Still more tobermorite and C-S-H gel were formed when above composition was used. A conclusion of this study is to use the optimum composition for biological building construction materials.
