Recently, there has been a increasing tendency to use composite deck plates in high-rise building and apartment due to its cost efficiency and less installation time. The purpose of this study is to clarify the structural performance and safety of deck plate through a carefully designed experimental program. In order to investigate the bending capacity and joint conectivity, separate specimens were made for positive and negative moment tests and experiments were performed varying the thickness of deck plate, slab thickness, and reinforcing method.The results of experimental tests are following ;(1) When the thickness of deck plate is 1.0mm, the strength was increased by 1.314.6% for positive moment tests, and 1.03.5% for negative moment tests compared to the case of 0.8mm deck plate thickness. These results indicated that the thickness of deck plate had little effect on the strength of the slab in both positive and negative moment tests.(2) The yield strength of slab with 200mm slab thickness and D13 reinforcement steel in positive moment test was increased by 28.434.8% compared to that of slab with 160mm thickness and D10 reinforcement steel. And 22.425.1% of yield strength was increased after install bottom reinforcement steel.(3) In positive moment test, experiment results showed that the yield strength was increased by 22.82.67% in slab with 200mm thickness and 11.420.5% in slab with 160mm thickness when the bottom reinforcement was installed. Whereas, the increase of yield strength was 2.02.3% in slab with 200mm thickness and 2.33.0% in slab with 160mm thickness due to the bottom reinforcement in negative moment test. This is because the bottom reinforcement contributes to the increase of compression strength of the composite deck plate, which has enough strength already.
