One of the first serious attempts at creating a dynamic 4D CAD model was undertaken in the late 1980s and was aimed at plant construction. Later, it was also used in the building industry as increasing the size and complexity of the buildings. This paper represents the object libraries and the work processes for implementing of the 4D simulation. The 4D simulation is a 3D CAD model simulated with time schedule. By using the 4D simulation, design errors are remedied in earlier design stages and the participants can visually understand the project more effectively. This paper describes two types of 4D simulation. They are whole-building 4D simulation and typical-floor 4D simulation. The whole-building 4D simulation shows construction method, actual schedule to planned schedule in macro views. And the typical-floor 4D simulation shows assembly order of elements in micro views. These two types of 4D simulation require different type of relational property. In this paper, 4D simulation is implemented using the Bentley's 4D tools, MS Project 2000 and MS Access. These tools are systematically organized for integrating its generated information.
