The tire air pressure of standard heavy-weight impact source when testing floor impact sound is a factor having very important influence on the test result. Therefore, in this paper we made the experiment on impact force characteristics with adjusting the tire air pressure. And we found that how much error occurred as the tire air pressure was against reference air pressure. As a result, it showed that floor impact sound level could be lowered 2∼3dB in proportion as the tire air pressure was dropped 0.5kgf/cm2. And especially, the variance was dominant at octaveband frequencies 63Hz, 125Hz. For the accurate evaluation about floor impact sound level in the apartment housings, the tire air pressure of standard heavy-weight impact source must be corrected by prescription.
