In construction delay claims, one party should prove the fact that the other party is responsable for the schedule delay caused to loss. Previous researches on construction delay analysis have been focused on methodologies of schedule impact analysis. The research on the practical method to apply the methodologies to actual project CPM network has not relatively been done yet. It is necessary to breakdown the level of project schedule and insert delay activities to analyze the schedule delay on the actual complex construction project CPM network.This paper presents a construction delay analysis method by means of hierarchical planning process approach to analyze the schedule delay and to present a method for calculating activity delays on the actual construction project CPM network.
