As a result of the change in styles and expected quality of dwelling, the diversity of user requirements in apartment housings is continuously increasing and requires more flexible solutions. SI housing(Open Building System) has much potential to meet these diverse requirements and be regarded as an alternative construction method that gives long-term serviceability of collective housing. In order to increase building serviceability, support structure should have the capacity of accommodating various changes of infill components so as for the infills to be easily replaced, reused and/or recycled. A structured survey was used to collect data from users and experts of apartment housings and the capacity of support system was evaluated by the formula developed by Kadowaki. Finally some rule suggestions were addressed for the future techniques of SI housing in respect of long-term serviceability.
