1. 시작하는 말


〉The historization of the Chinese myth, in religious upheaval time between Shang(商) and Zhou(周), started with the appearance of the belief in TianMing(天命) and the pursuit of Li(禮), growing in prosperity due to the flowering of humanism during the period of ChunQiuZhanGuo(春秋戰國). And with DaYiTong(大一統) of Han(漢), the Chinese myth became historicized thoroughly. After that, the historization of the Chinese myth has been progressing, and the inner and outer motive of the historization of myth appears variously according to the situation of the times and the people's desire in each period. In the traditional view of myth, people were seeing myth as history and giving an unnatural interpretation by the criterion of rationality. But, in the 20the century, GuShiBian(古史辨) disagreed with the view of looking upon myth as history and tried to restore the original myth out of the historicized myth. And today many Chinese scholars are making the myth historicized again.In the essay, during the survey of the various backgrounds and the viewpoints around the historization of the Chinese myth, I came to find the nature of systematization and gradation always exists in the historization of the Chinese myth. Today if the re-historization of the Chinese myth represents the viewpoint of ZhongHwaZhuYi(中華主義), it is apparent that we should watch out such a trend. And among other things, the myth must be comprehended as the symbol and the image of the myth itself, in order to find its inner-existing various meanings. The work that we should pull out the myth confined in the closed frame of the historization to the open and universal field is the work that we can inspire the freedom and the life into the myth.
