The principle of mutual recognition of architects' qualification under WTO system implies that professional education needs to meet the international standards. The purpose of this study is to analyze design studio assignment of major architecture schools in Korea from the view of international criteria for architectural education. Criteria and recommendations of NAAB, RIBA and UIA are compared and extracted for the frame of analysis. As a result it is suggested that 'Transparency in education content', 'Content level control', 'Integration of technical knowledge into design' and 'Sustainability in architecture' should be emphasized in order to meet the international standards.
