Municipal solid waste's the quantity and the characteristic of discharge in accordance with generating source can be very useful for the basic data in order to dispose of solid waste and to utilize it. The purpose of this study is to show the effective method of disposing of solid waste by dint of studying solid waste's the quantity and the characteristic of discharge which office buildings built in the first road lane of Dongsungro, the central place of Daegu, discharge. the results obtained could be summarized as follows :1) The discharge rate of office buildings in the city is 0.3∼0.5(kg/person·day) and the average of discharge rate is 0.357(kg/person·day). 2) The factors which influence solid waste's the quantity of production are work-type, building scale, the number of workers and so on. Especially work-type and the number of workers are main factors. 3) According to solid waste's the characteristic of discharge the ratio of inflammable waste is over 85%. The caloric value is higher than any other places. 4) Solid waste's the quantity of production which office buildings built in Junggu discharge is about 7,489㎏. So we can produce electric power for this area by burning up municipal solid waste of which the calorific value is high.
