아크릴산(Acrylic acid, AA) 저장 중 자발적으로 생성되는 diacrylic acid (DAA) 생성변화를 연구하였다. 0.12∼19.9 wt%의 수분을 함유하고, 중합금지제로 70∼300 ppm의 p-methoxyhydroquinone (MEHQ)을 함유한 AA을 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 ℃ incubator에서 90일 동안 저장하였다. DAA 함량은 가스크로마토그래피로 분석하였는데 DAA 생성속도는 수분함량과 온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였고, 온도가 수분보다 더 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 이 결과를 토대로 DAA 생성량을 예측할 수 있는 실험 속도식을 얻었다.


Spontaneous formation of diacrylic acid (DAA) in bulk acrylic acid (AA) has been investigated. Samples of AA containing 0.12∼19.9 wt% levels of water and 70∼300 ppm p-methoxyhydroquinone (MEHQ) were stored at constant temperatures of 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 ℃ up to 90 days. The samples were then analyzed for acid composition by gas chromatography. The rate of DAA formation increased with increasing both water content and temperature, in which the latter had the greater effect. Based on the analysis, an empirical equation to predict DAA formation using the water contents and temperature was generated.
