This study was caried out to investigate varietal variation of dry mater production, and to clasify varieties on the basisof dry mater production, and to analyze relationships betwen sed yield and dry mater production in 28 germplasm. Descendingorder of variation in dry mater by parts was capsule, stem, top weight, and leaf, while it's descending order in dry matter partition-ing ratio was capsule, leaf, and stem. Descending order of variation in characters related to leaf area was leaf area rate(LAR), leafarea index(LAI), leaf number, and specific leaf area(SLA). Mean value of seed weight per plant was 5.4g 1.9 and it's range was0.8~9.4 g, while mean value of HI was 16.7 5.1 and it's range was 2.3~25.7. Sed weight per plant showed significantly positivecorelation with HI, capsule weight, top weight, and ratio of capsule weight per plant, but it showed significantly negative corela-tion with the ratio of leaf and stem weight, and LAR. Twenty eight germplasm were clasified to 7 clusters on the basis of dry mat-ter production, and most of germplasm were included to second and fifth cluster. Second cluster(Group I) that containAhnsankae, Korean leading variety and most of Korean land race represented high value in LAI, and ratio of leaf weight, but lowvalue in ratio of capsule weight. Fifth cluster(Group V) that contain Seodunkae and Yangbaeckae, Korean leading variety andmost of breding line represented high value in sed weight per plant, HI, and top weight, but low value in ratio of leaf and stemweight, LAR, and SLA.
