The purpose of this study is to investigate the management of education courses of the major Taekwondo, based on students' awareness level on them and from the point of view of students themselves, into four categories: education courses, education purposes, education contents, and education course management. Based on the analysis, an improvement scheme on the problems found is to be made in order to lay a foundation for Taekwondo's growth in quality and establishing its identity and systemizing it as a science, and to provide basic data for developing new training courses for raising qualified and specialized leaders. For this study, total 247 students were selected, by the convenience sampling method, from juniors and seniors of four universities having Taekwondo department and located in metropolitan area.All data for this study were through frequency analysis and cross analysis per item as well as χ2 test for testing significance between each group. The results collected through above mentioned study methods and data analysis are as follows:Even though there is significant difference among students' awareness on education course operation, overall awareness is quite negative. And it is perceived that the prerequisite for efficient operation of education courses is to reinforce administrative supports to Taekwondo departments from Kukkiwon, Korea Taekwondo Association, and World Taekwondo Federation, and to develop materials for lectures and studies and new attitudes of both the faculty and the student. In conclusion, students perceive that improvements in circumstances and systematical supports are required.
