This study is aimed, through a research on consumer's consciousness and preference of traditional clothing color and color ooordination in traditional Korean Costumes, at getting the basic material needed for conserving the Korean traditional dothing culture, enhancing the consumers' satisfaction, and establishing the marketing strategy of Korean dothes(Han-bok) business area. The research was implemented by norrnative-descriptive survey method using Questionnaire and stimulus. The sample consisted of 59J mature male and female residing Seoul area. The results and the suggestions are as follows: 1. It was found that consumers feels more traditionality in the color ooordination with the deep red skirt, and the color ooordination with deep red is the most preferred in the traditional Korean dothes. 2. Considering the results that the preferred color ooordination varies with the ages and the designs of dothes it applied, there is a need for the more subdivided marketing strategy of Korean traditional dothes market to enhance the level of the consumer's satisfaction. 3. Although, in general, consumers have the positive image on Korean traditional color ooordination, to some extent, they want the use of the colors in fashion in case of Saeng-whal-han-bok. When this is reflected in product planning, it would be a help for enhancing consumers' satisfaction. 4. In the responses of which color and color coordination they thought as traditional one, difference was found between before and after presentation of stimulus hints. It can be said that the difference implies a need of educational program for the rightful conservation and succession of the Korean traditional costume culture.
