ABSTRACT

A parcel delivery vehicle differs from other general cars because of its purpose of delivery service that has unique characteristics, such as extremely frequent stopping, restarting and idling. However, a majority of previous studies were conducted without considering the characteristics of the parcel delivery vehicle in the calculation of carbon dioxide emission. This erroneously leads to the low amount of carbon dioxide emission in the result. Therefore, this study will consider the parcel delivery vehicle characteristics, such as stopping, starting and idling in the analysis of each type of carbon emission model. Also, the purpose of this study is to develop a carbon dioxide estimation model that reflects the characteristics of the delivery vehicle. Besides the purpose of this study is to develop a carbon dioxide estimation model that can reflects the characteristics of the parcel delivery vehicle, as well as to compare carbon dioxide emission model obtained from this study with the existing model. From the model comparison the proposed model predicts an increase by 31.93% at the maximum, 15.55% at the minimum, and 21.4% at the average.
