ABSTRACT

본 연구는 아세안국가의 보험사를 대상으로 인수합병으로 인해 발생하는효과를 실증적으로 분석한다. 쌍별평균비교분석에서 피인수합병 보험사의수익성은 사건 이후에 증가하는 반면에 인수합병 보험사의 경우에는 변화가없는 것으로 나타나 Cummins& Weiss(2004)의 연구결과와 유사한 결과를얻었다. 회귀분석결과에 의하면 국가가 동일한 보험사 간에 발생하는 큰 규모의 일대일 인수합병이 수익성 면에서 증가하는 것으로 나타나, 아세안 국가에서는 인수합병으로 인해 규모가 크고 영향력이 큰 통합적 보험사의 등장이 긍정적으로 여겨지고 있는 것으로 보인다. 이러한 결과는 미국과 유럽에서 발견되고 있는 통합가설을 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 지지하고 있는결과이지만, 본 연구에서 분석한 아세안 국가 보험사 데이터가 지니는 제한점을 고려하여 해석해야 하는 한계가 존재하고 있음을 밝히고자 한다.
