ABSTRACT
This study aims at reviewing the portraits of the children's poetry by analyzing the ≪sonyun≫-the children's journal from 1937 to 1940. Firstly we can find the debate between the concepts of the Dong-yo(동요) and the Dong-si(동시). Yun Seok-jung and Lee Won-soo distinguished the Dong-yo from the Dong-si by the formal rhythm and the innate rhythm. But Lee Tae-jun wrote the rhythm-free poetry and I think it was his contributions to the rhythm free poetry of children. Secondly, the portraits of the contents of the poetry at that periods was that the most of the poetry described the lives and plays of children. The others were about the sorrows of hard lives of that periods. And some poets sung about the nature and seasons and a few poets sung the hope of the tomorrow.
