ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to promote players' desire for learning and to offer basic data, which comes to be helpful for improvement and development in the consciousness of participating in lesson, through analyzing the actual condition and the awareness of participating in regular lesson of Taekwon players now at high school. To achieve this research objective, it prepared questionnaire on the actual condition and the awareness of participating in regular lesson of Taekwon players based on data of Kim Seok-min(2000), Kim Yeong-seok(2002), Yu Dong-yeong(2002), and Baek Jong-su(2004). The materials of 403 male and female students of high school, who participated in nationwide Taekwondo competition from April 10 to 16, 2010, were statistically processed with frequency analysis, cross tabulation, t-test and one way anova by using SPSS12.0 program. The findings on this are as follows. First, the participation in lesson of high-school athletes was large in the participation mainly during the morning time(4 hours), but was high in the loss rate of lesson when the match date drew near. The non-participation in lesson was indicated to be as long as 1 month from 2-3 days. Difference was shown by prize result(p<.05). Second, as for behavior type of being immersed during lesson class, it was large in a type of sleeping or being immersed in lesson. Third, high-school athletes had awareness of necessity for participating in lesson, but were relatively low in the interest. This was indicated to be a reason that they fail to find the interesting factor enough to be immersed in lesson class due to being always tired in body and mind and being too big in difference of learning level caused by excessive exercise volume. As for improvement plans for this, there will be necessity for fostering Taekwondo players of studying by strictly giving the qualification of player with the application of the standard for academic achievements. Taekwondo coaches, directors, and leaders will need to make delicate consideration and guidance so that players' learning attitude and habit can be changed positively.
