AB - This article is the view on Toson Shimazaki's Poetry reflecting of the Bible, ‘Genesis’ In Toson's modern poetry, there is a poem named ‘the morning star’ which reflecting the Old Testament, ‘Genesis’ leaving vestige of modification. He exploited them in writing his poem. In this point of view, it is no exaggeration to say that Toson was influenced by Bible's point of view on his composing poems. As a concrete research measure, it was to pursue the Bible and his campus life in Meiji Gakuin. In spite of being baptized, Toson lapse from faith. So as to do those analyses, it was to turn efforts toward Toson's autobiography novel, Sakura no mi no jukusuru toki and Haru, which Toson's been infatuated in his youth as a text, Comparing Toson's poetry with the Bible ‘Genesis’, parallels and similar plot and frame of poem among them were found out. In the course of this survey, it was found out that Toson has accepted and exploited the Biblical expressions and thought for his poems, rather than build up the faith on God. We can find out that his concern had changed from the Biblical understanding to epic poetry in this poem. We can see many sorts of similarities and modification and inflection in his poems, but because of that, they are to be seen to be just as putting on lug or, dressed up brilliantly except snug fit.
